The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Friday signed a partnership agreement with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), streamlining the renewal process of driver’s licenses of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac and LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, led the ceremonial launch of the LTO OFW Driver’s License Renewal Program under the “Pinabilis sa Bagong Bayani ang Magkalisensya” (PBBM) Project at the DMW central office in Mandaluyong City during the celebration of the National Migrant Workers Day.

Cacdac said the partnership program aims to streamline the renewal process of driver’s licenses for Filipinos abroad through online and digital platforms.

Both signed the memorandum circular for the implementation of the online renewal of the driver’s licenses of OFWs.

The PBBM Project is a testament to DMW’s and LTO’s commitment to making the lives of Filipinos living or working abroad easier.

“It provides a convenient means for them to renew their driver’s licenses without physically appearing at an LTO office, relieving them of the burden of additional travel and time,” Cacdac said.

Mendoza said the program was a result of a series of discussions between the DMW secretary and LTO’s head agency’s chief, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.

Cacdac thanked Bautista and Mendoza for finding ways to improve their services and make the process easier for OFWs.

“This initiative is another product of the instruction of our President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. not only to make the government services fast and comfortable to all Filipinos, whether in the Philippines or abroad but also in his directive to go digital to further bring government services closer to the people,” Mendoza said.
