Various free skills trainings are being offered to displaced workers in the province of Ilocos Norte in order to survive the series of lockdowns aimed at curbing the surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases.

In partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Anne Marie Lizette Bitancor-Atuan announced Wednesday that they are again opening a series of livelihood trainings to all interested residents, particularly displaced workers to learn new skills and help them survive the pandemic.

Among the latest trainings available include electronics product assembly and servicing, bread and pastry making, computer system servicing, dressmaking, refrigeration and air-conditioning servicing, automotive servicing, cookery and shielded metal arc welding.

“To avail of the program, applicants may register at https://workin.ilocosnorte.gov.ph/ and apply for the available training options offered on site,” she said in an interview citing each training which will be conducted face-to-face can accommodate at least 25 applicants.

Deadline of registration is set on Sept. 15.

Once registered, Atuan said they will be immediately notified of all the available trainings as well as job opportunities waiting for them.

Basic requirements include a photocopy of birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority, barangay clearance or certificate indicating the complete address certifying the applicant as a displaced worker or out-of-school youth, barangay cedula, four pieces each of 1×1 and passport-size photos.
