The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Monday vowed to sustain the positive momentum gained in the nationwide implementation of the administration’s flagship Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

In a news release, the DHSUD said it was inspired by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s positive rating based on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

The survey showed that 59 percent of Filipinos were satisfied with the Marcos administration while those dissatisfied went down to 23 percent.

In terms of the administration’s performance on issues, President Marcos Jr. got +65 rating in helping disaster victims, classified as “very good”, and received +49 in implementing housing programs for the poor which is equivalent to “good.”

The DHSUD said it has been spearheading the nationwide implementation of the flagship 4PH. In fact, some partner-local government units have already started delivery of housing units to beneficiaries since December.

At least 56 projects under 4PH are now in various stages of development and construction, with some condominium-type buildings already completed in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Under the current administration, the DHSUD has been actively involved in disaster response, launching two programs for calamity victims last year, and was actively involved in the “conveyor belt of aid” ordered by the President following series of destructive typhoons.

The DHSUD distributed housing materials and essentials (HOMEs) to victims of typhoons and provided unconditional cash assistance ranging from PHP10,000 to PHP30,000 under its Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP).

“We take this positive rating of the President and the administration as an inspiration to do better and more para sa ating mga kababayan, lalo na ang mga mahihirap (for our kababayans, especially to the poor),” DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said.

“Malinaw po ang utos ng mahal na Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. ipaabot natin ang lahat ng pwedeng tulong sa ating mga kababayan, kami sa DHSUD sa pamamagitan ng disente, ligtas at abot-kayang pabahay (The President’s order is clear. Let us extend all possible assistance to our kababayans. On the part of the DHSUD, it is through decent, safe and affordable housing).”

At the same time, the housing czar welcomed the +49 rating received by the administration in implementing pro-poor housing program.

“This proves that we are on the right track with the implementation of 4PH. Slowly but surely, Pambansang Pabahay is gaining traction and we need to sustain it,” Acuzar said. (PNA)
