The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the University of the Philippines (UP) on Monday signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the housing of qualified faculty and staff.

In a news release, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said the UP Management shares a common goal of providing yet affordable shelters in sustainable communities under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

“Ang pagbubuklod natin ay magsisilbing pundasyon ng ating pinagsanib na hangad para sa ikabubuti ng mga taga-UP (Our partnership will serve as a foundation of our joint goal for the betterment of UP employees),” he said.

“Hangad namin na makapagpatayo tayo ng sustainable housing sa loob ng UP, para sa mga taga-UP (It is our aspiration to build sustainable housing inside UP, for its employees).”

Acuzar and UP President Angelo Jimenez inspected the proposed site for the housing project for qualified faculty and staff inside the UP Diliman Campus.

The DHSUD vowed to facilitate the construction of a 4PH building in the land identified by the UP Management for the housing project.

It will also provide end-user interest subsidy for qualified 4PH beneficiaries at UP. (PNA)
