The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Iligan City government distributed PHP1.7 million in financial assistance to 69 families affected by Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami) in November 2024.

During the distribution on Thursday, DHSUD-10 Director Ariel Abragan credited the local government, particularly Mayor Frederick Siao and the City Social Welfare and Development Office, for swiftly identifying beneficiaries.

“We acknowledge the local government for the fast process of providing the names,” Abragan said.

In the first batch, 52 families received PHP30,000 each for fully damaged houses, while 17 families got PHP10,000 each for partially damaged homes. An additional 15 families affected by a recent fire also received assistance.

Abragan said the distribution will continue as the list of beneficiaries undergoes verification. (PNA)
