Around 7,000 working-class families are set to benefit from a socialized housing project under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling on Tuesday inspected the first batch of completed house-and-lot units in a subdivision-type socialized housing project in General Santos City enrolled under the Expanded 4PH Program.

“Sa Expanded 4PH, may modalities para sa lahat, mula sa working class hanggang sa informal sectors (Under the Expanded 4PH, there are modalities for everyone—from the working class to the informal sectors),” he said.

“At hindi lang ang coverage sa beneficiaries ang na-expand natin kundi pati ang mga lugar kung saan tayo may proyekto mula Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao (We have not only expanded the coverage of beneficiaries, but also the areas where we have projects, across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao),” he added.

Aliling assured the public that more projects similar to this are lined up in the coming months.

Located in Barangay Apopong, Deca Homes Gensan 2 will have a total of 7,430 house-and-lot units once completed.

The units are being offered through Pag-IBIG Fund’s subsidized home loan program, making homeownership more accessible to middle- and working-class families in the region.

The first batch of units has already been completed and is scheduled for turnover to homebuyers this March.

The project is being developed by Deca Homes, known for developing affordable housing.

Alexander Sotto, chief operating officer of Deca Homes, said around 600 units have already been sold in just four months, reflecting strong demand for affordable housing in the area.

“We plan to construct about 200 units per month to keep up with the demand,” Sotto said.

Spanning around 498,600 square meters, the development features open spaces, parks, and community facilities designed to promote organized, safe, and livable neighborhoods.

Aliling said the project aligns with the department’s mandate to provide decent housing while responding to the President’s directive to deliver responsive and people-centered programs.

“This project in General Santos City demonstrates that the Expanded 4PH Program is not limited to urban centers in Luzon. We are building communities where Filipino families can thrive and live with dignity, security, and fresh hope as directed by President Marcos Jr.,” he said.

“By delivering socialized housing at a subsidized rate, we make homeownership attainable for the working class—from minimum wage earners to low-income families. This is inclusive growth translated into real homes as envisioned by our president,” Aliling added.

He emphasized that the Expanded 4PH Program offers Filipino families a concrete opportunity to achieve homeownership and build stable communities under the directive of President Marcos. (PNA)
