The city government is opening more sites for the Bakuna Nights drive in malls to vaccinate working Dabawenyos against the coronavirus.

Bakuna Nights is a nightly vaccination drive designed to give chance to individuals working during the day to get vaccinated even at night.

In a radio interview Wednesday, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the Davao Covid-19 Task Force Vaccination Cluster said they are eyeing the big malls in the city as new venues for the Bakuna Nights.

“We really want to achieve herd immunity. One of the proposals of the Vaccination Cluster is to open several Bakuna Nights locations so we are looking into Abreeza Mall, Gaisano Mall, SM Lanang, and Gaisano Mall Toril,” she said.

Malls are more accessible and strategically located to cater to those from the southern and northern areas of the city.

Schlosser said regular vaccination hubs would continue to operate during the day despite the expansion of the nightly vaccination rollout.

“The city continues to find ways to make vaccination convenient for Dabawenyos through several vaccination sites, expanded Bakuna Nights, and the Sangguniang Panlungsod-led mobile vaccinations,” Schlosser said.

It is currently rolled out in two hubs – at the San Roque Elementary School in Obrero and Almendras Gym. (PNA)
