Davao Region has recorded 20,628 recoveries or 91.4 percent of its total coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases since the pandemic began in March last year, the Department of Health in Region 11 (DOH-11) reported.

In a regional situation update released Thursday evening (April 15), DOH-11 said this city recorded the most number of recovered patients in the region at 13,069, followed by Davao del Norte (3,343), Davao del Sur (1,383), Davao Oriental (1,320), Davao de Oro (1,298), and Davao Occidental (215).

Of the 2,242 persons tested on Thursday, DOH-11 said at least 79 tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 971.

Of the new cases, 33 are from Davao del Norte, 32 are from Davao City, six from Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro and Davao del Sur have four each.

The new cases consisted of one Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF) and 78 local transmissions.

DOH-11 also reported two deaths from Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte. (PNA)
