The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday vowed to intensify its anti-criminality efforts with the high approval rating given by the public on the recent survey conducted by Pulse Asia under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.

“Every PNP will always strive to work their best every day and with the help of all sectors in the community including the church leaders, the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for a robust economy will be a reality. Tulong tulong tayo para sa isang maayos, mapayapa at maunlad na pamayanan (Let’s help each other for a healthy, peaceful and prosperous community),” said PNP chief, Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., in a message sent to the Philippine News Agency when sought for a comment.

He said this satisfactory result motivates the organization to work harder as the fight against criminality continues.

Relentless police operations have been conducted around the country to combat criminal elements and suppress their intentions and operations.

“Teamwork, unity of command, and direction for a common goal will lead us to better accomplishments,” Azurin said in a statement.

”Congratulations everyone on our efforts to bring peace and security to every Filipino. I am certain that we can still raise the bar and improve some more,” he added.

The entire police force has always been driven by the security framework set forth by the top cop.

This holistic approach calls on everyone to do their share by cooperating with authorities and be law-abiding citizens.

In a survey conducted by private polling firm Pulse Asia on Sept. 17 to 21, the Marcos administration enjoyed high approval scores for handling urgent issues in the country.

The nationwide survey said the Marcos administration earned “majority approval ratings” on 11 of the 13 issues.

The current administration received high approval for responding to the needs of calamity-hit areas and controlling the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) (78 percent each), promoting peace in the country (69 percent), protecting the overseas Filipino workers’ welfare (68 percent), fighting criminality (67 percent), and enforcing the law (62 percent).

It also posted a 59-percent approval score both for creating more jobs and increasing workers’ pay.

Also, around 58 percent expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts to fight graft and corruption, 57 percent approved initiatives to protect the environment, and 52 percent in the efforts to defend the country’s territorial integrity.

Pulse Asia also found that the Marcos administration registered 42-percent rating on the issue of controlling inflation and a 39-percent score on poverty reduction. (PNA)
