Local creative content creators across the Ilocos Region will gather for an original content roadshow to be held at the Vigan Convention Center in Ilocos Sur province on November 10.

The roadshow is a collaborative activity between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Creative Content Creators Association of the Philippines Inc. (CCCAP).

“The association’s mission is to help develop and curate original content that adheres to international standards. The roadshow, meanwhile, aims to bring together various creative talents and entrepreneurs,” DTI regional director Grace Falgui-Baluyan said in the invite letter sent to local creatives on Saturday.

By providing an avenue for local creatives to jumpstart the growth and development of their original content, more opportunities will open for them in the global market, she added.

Angelie Banaag, a self-taught Ilocana artist and owner of “Artitos and Istariray,” a fashion line of handcrafted earrings and clothing in Ilocos Norte, said that the roadshow would give local content creators the boost they need to survive in the industry.

“Art is an act of worship in which creators point back to the ultimate creator. Thank you, DTI Region 1, for this chance to be a vessel and to inspire and share all the Lord’s favor in this journey,” Banaag, who was handpicked by the DTI as one of the speakers to share her journey as a creator, said in an interview Saturday.

Featured in the roadshow program are the works of local creatives as well as topics on the challenges of local creators, intellectual property, and the future of creatives.
