The Commission on Elections in Davao Region (Comelec-11) recorded a total of 164,321 early voters—including assistors—during the exclusive early voting window for persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and pregnant women during the May 2025 midterms.

In a media briefing on Wednesday, Comelec-11 Assistant Director Gay Enumerables said of the total, 123,003 were senior citizens, 10,520 were PWDs, and 5,529 were pregnant voters. The number also includes 25,269 assistors who helped these priority groups.

“A lot of them availed of the two-hour early voting period. Overall, we had an orderly and peaceful election,” Enumerables said.

She noted that most early voters cast their ballots between 5:45 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Meanwhile, Atty. Aileen Lizada, spokesperson of the Archdiocesan Citizens Engagement Committee–Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), said their group retrieved 95.09 percent of all election returns across the region.

However, she flagged a recurring issue: the “no record found” status encountered by some voters.

“This can be addressed by ramping up satellite registrations. We can assist Comelec by engaging the academe and Indigenous Peoples communities to reduce congestion in registration offices,” Lizada suggested. (PNA)
