The Malasiqui I Central School now has additional learning spaces with the completion of a PHP 5.9-million, one-story, three-classroom building.

In a statement on Monday, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Ilocos Region information officer Esperanza Tinaza said the project aims to address classroom shortages and improve the quality of education in the province.

“Funded under the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) 2024, the building spanned 7.0 meters by 27.0 meters, with a total floor area of 189 square meters, consisted of three fully equipped classrooms designed to offer a more conducive learning environment,” she said.

Each classroom is furnished with essential utilities, including electricity and teaching aids, ensuring a comfortable space for both students and teachers.

The project, which began on Nov. 16, 2024, was completed ahead of schedule on Feb. 4, 2025. (PNA)
