A charitable organization is partnering with the provincial government of Misamis Oriental in calling for support for leukemia patients particularly children.

During the announcement on Monday, Reczel Clarabal, of the Leukemia Patients and Parents Organization Inc. (Leupapo), said they are staging several fundraising events to meet the growing needs of the group in assisting patients with leukemia.

On Jan. 11, 2025, the first Kuyamis Fun Run will be held in this city where proceeds will go to Leupapo’s programs and support operations.

“We are hoping to raise at least PHP500,000 to improve our center so we can no longer transfer places,” he said.

Clarabal founded Leupapo in 2016 when his son was diagnosed with leukemia and undergoing treatment at that time.

At present, the organization caters to patients not only in Misamis Oriental but also as far Sabah, Malaysia, and other parts of Mindanao. (PNA)
