Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) will start collecting the new toll fee rates for the Phase 1 of its Segment 1 (R1 Expressway) along Coastal Road in Parañaque City on October 24.
This, after its petition, jointly filed by the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), for the “Approval of the Ad-on Agreed Toll Rate for Phase 1 of Segment 1 (R1 Expressway) Enhancement of the Manila Cavite Expressway Project,” was approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB).
“This is a very important development for us, to be able to keep on delivering our promise of a high quality and safe expressway,” said CIC president Bobby Bontia.
The existing toll rates for the seven-kilometer stretch are PHP24 for class 1 vehicles, PHP48 for class 2, and PHP72 for class 3.
Starting Oct. 24, the new rates will be PHP25, PHP50, and PHP75 for Class 1, 2 and 3, respectively.
Through the years, Bontia said, CIC has heavily invested to improve and enhance the services to motorists as it continues to work on a PHP1.1-billion enhancement of the CAVITEX phase 1, of which the PHP800-million was allotted for the widening of lanes and construction of a left-turn facility at the Marina flyover that opened last December 2018.
Construction is also ongoing for the PHP300-million CAVITEX phase 2 — the widening of bridges in Wawa, Las Piñas and Parañaque which is expected to be completed by May 2020.
Since its opening on July this year, the first 2.2 kilometers of Cavitex-C5 Link Expressway has served its target daily vehicle volume of 8,000 and has helped decongest major checkpoints during peak hours in Sales interchange (near Villamor Airbase), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), East and West Service Roads and Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa), Bontia said.
CIC commits to continue its works on the next 5.5 kilometers of the expressway starting November. Once the full 7.7 kilometer C5 Link Expressways is completed, it promises a better and more efficient road network to motorists and residents of neighboring cities, he added.
The entire alignment is seen to serve fifty thousand vehicles daily allowing motorists to experience the ease of travelling along the south corridor of the Metro Manila from Cavitex Parañaque toll plaza, Las Piñas and Pasay up to C5 in Taguig City in 10 minutes or even less. (PNA)
