Residents of Barangay Dikapanikian, Dingalan town, this province were able to avail of different kinds of public services during the conduct of a “Serbisyo Caravan” on Monday.

In an interview on Tuesday, Lt. Col. Reandrew Rubio, commander of the Army’s 91st Infantry Battalion (91IB), said the local government unit (LGU), government agencies, and partners for peace united in delivering various services to the people.

Among the government services that benefited close to a hundred residents in the town were a feeding program, medical check-up, and free haircut.

Likewise, some 50 coconut seedlings were distributed by the Philippine Coconut Authority to members of the Maralitang Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Magsasaka as well as medicines for children below 12 years old through the assistance of the barangay health workers.

Rubio said the activity was part of the government’s End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) program and in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order 70 institutionalizing the whole-of-nation approach to ending insurgency and achieving lasting peace.

The 91IB was among the government agencies that joined the “Serbisyo Caravan” which was led by Mayor Shierwin Taay, and participated in by different offices of the Dingalan LGU.

“The 91st Infantry Battalion and other agencies are working together out of munificence to achieve the same intention and that is to deliver aid to communities in need,” Rubio said in a text message. (PNA)
