The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said measures are in place for the resumption of commercial flights in this city on June 8.

Antonio Alfonso, CAAP area manager, said Wednesday that among the preparations are placing of safe physical distancing markers, acquisition of thermal guns, and other things related to health protocols.

Alfonso said that all inbound passengers will be profiled and screen upon arrival from their point of origin.

“It is up for the city government to place the passengers under the 14-day quarantine in an isolation facility,” Alfonso added.

Meanwhile, he said that flights from this city to Jolo and vice-versa will also resume on June 8 while those in the cities of Dipolog and Pagadian within this week.

He said no announcement has been made yet as to the flight between this city and Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

He said the resumption of flights depend on the readiness of the local government to accept passengers with minimum health requirements. (PNA)
