World Vision Philippines, together with its longtime partners and advocates, celebrated the transformative power of empowering girls during the #GirlsCan Campaign event held last August 19, 2025. The gathering brought together corporate supporters, beauty queens, media advocates, and long-time partners like PAGEONE Group to reaffirm a shared commitment: to break barriers, build futures, and transform generations.

Now in its seventh year, the #GirlsCan Campaign, formerly known as the 1000 Girls sponsorship drive, continues to ensure that vulnerable Filipino girls have equal access to quality education, paving the way for leadership, independence, and opportunities beyond limitations. By sponsoring a girl, supporters help shape not just one life but the future of families and communities.

“When you empower a girl, you are not just changing her story. You are rewriting the story of her family, her community, and even the next generation,” said Sharon D. Mesias, Public Affairs and Brand Engagement Manager of World Vision Philippines. “#GirlsCan is our movement to show that girls can lead, inspire, and rise above limitations when given the chance.”

The event featured heartfelt words of appreciation from World Vision’s private sector partners, a showcase of collaborative efforts with PAGEONE Group and Wildfyre bloggers, and inspiring testimonies from this year’s Binibining Pilipinas queens.

“There are so many talented children out there that have the chance to succeed if just given a chance. shared Katrina Anne Johnson, Binibining Pilipinas International 2025. “That’s why campaigns like this [#GirlsCan] are so important because, of course, when we invest in our girls, we’re showing them their voices matter and their dreams bear weight, and most of all that girls truly can.”

Long-time World Vision ambassador and TV personality Joyce Pring-Triviño echoed this sentiment, drawing from her own experiences as a mother.

“The reason why I’m so passionate, even more as a World Vision Ambassador, is because I have my own children. And I see just how vulnerable and how much potential, joy, and hope they hold, especially if we harness and they’re taken care of.” Pring said.

PAGEONE Group President and COO Vonj Tingson underscored the company’s continued support for the cause.

“At PAGEONE, we believe in the power of communication to create change, and supporting #GirlsCan is our way of telling every girl: your voice matters, your dreams are valid, and your future is worth fighting for,” Tingson said.

In his closing remarks, Jun Godornes, World Vision Philippines’ Resource Development Director, encouraged more people to join the movement.

“The success of #GirlsCan is a testament to the power of collaboration. Together, we can ensure that every girl, no matter her circumstance, has the chance to write her own story of success. To know more about how you can take part, you may visit www.worldvision.org.ph. With your support, we hope to sponsor 1,000 girls by October 11, the International Day of the Girl.”

World Vision calls on the public to sponsor a girl by October 11, International Day of the Girl, and take part in a movement that changes lives for generations to come.
