The main character Charlie Besson works for a major celebrity star called Kathi Kannon. As Charlie accompanies Kathi on several trips and errands their work relationship turns into a close friendship.

F.H Batacan won the Carlos Palanca Grand Prize for an English Novel in 1999 for Smaller and Smaller Circles. The story is set in the Philippines, a body is found in Payatas and two priests are asked by the National Bureau Investigation to help solve the case. Father Gus Saenz is a respected forensic anthropologist whilst his friend, Father Jerome Lucero is a psychologist. The book was later turned into a movie by TBA Studios, and can now be viewed on YouTube.
