After almost two years, BLACKPINK is back with their new album entitled ‘Born Pink.’ The group already had a pre-released track from their album with Pink Venom that garnered more than 300 million views as of writing.

On September 16, 2022, the group officially released the album and the title track, “Shut Down,” which sends a message to all that no matter how much they try to bring down the four members of the group, BLACKPINK will always continue to rise and shut them down.

In celebration of BLACKPINK’s comeback, YG announced on Thursday that the group would be having a “Shut Down” cover contest for Blinks all over the world. The application period for all the fans started on September 22, and will end on October 16, 2022, at 11:59 PM Korean Standard Time.

All fans can create a dance, vocal, or instrument cover video of the group’s recent title track “Shut Down” and upload it on YouTube with the hashtags: “#BLACKPINK #블랙핑크 #ShutDown #CoverContest #220922_221006 #YG.”

Fans can also reupload their past cover videos of the song. After uploading their cover videos, fans are asked to fill out an application form. Winners will be determined through YG’s internal review, which will be 50% of the criteria and another 50% from YouTube views. There will be a total of five winners of the said contest. One team will get 1 million KRW, two teams will get 6 million KRW, and two teams will get 4 million KRW.

Moreover, “Shut Down” has over 100 million views on YouTube, and the group is preparing for their upcoming world tour that will start this October.
