Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Manila, on Thursday said he has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

“…l announce that I am positive (for) Covid-19 with the RT-PCR test,” Pabillo said in a statement.

Pabillo added that he is now under quarantine and is following strict protocols.

“Although I do not feel anything, I follow the protocol that is set. I am now in a designated area for quarantine observing strict protocol as required. My condition is being monitored and (I am given) healthy food and vitamins, and do physical exercise,” the Manila auxiliary bishop said.

He also reported that his staff has been tested negative and the people that had contact with him last week have been informed so that they may follow necessary safety measures.

Pabillo said he would appreciate prayers for his recovery.

“I know this virus will pass, so please do not worry about me, although prayers would be very much appreciated. Since I am in my normal self, thank God, the shield online meetings that we have set will continue. Life must go on,” he said.

Pabillo added that a priest of the Archdiocese will celebrate Sunday Mass at 10 a.m. and Monday Mass at noon at the Manila Cathedral, and read the respective homilies he prepared. (PNA)
