Recognizing the need for alternative housing solutions in the country, Bisaya Gyud (BG) Party-list 108 first nominee Alelee Aguilar-Andanar on Tuesday said they will further push for a more accessible means to acquire decent shelter for low-income families.

We want to provide a decent and affordable home to every Filipino family in Visayan regions),” Andanar said.

She noted that the government has to revisit and strengthen its policy framework on housing subsidies “in order to substantially improve accessibility of this program.”

Not all families can afford to buy their own home, especially in today’s time where we prioritize the basic needs of our loved ones such as food and other daily expenses),” she said.

She said housing projects and shelter assistance are among the badly needed government aid in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, especially in the typhoon-hit areas.

There is big the demand for housing in areas hit by disasters. They need shelter especially now that the weather is changing and we don’t know when and how strong the storm will be),” Andanar said.

She added that her experience and expertise in the field of real estate will be helpful in this thrust of the party-list.

Andanar is the vice-president of VAA Builders Corporation, a housing developer based in Las Piñas and owned by her family.

She further committed to continue the programs of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte by providing quality low-cost housing to the poor.

“Bagaman, masasabi nating low-cost housing, sisiguraduhin po nating maitataguyod natin ang legasiya ni Presidente Rodrigo Duterte na walang maipapatayong bahay na gawa sa mga substandard ng materyales (Although, we can say low-cost housing, we will make sure that we can uphold the legacy of President Rodrigo Duterte that no house can be built made of substandard materials),” she said.
