The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM) is advancing its plan to construct school buildings and facilities across Maguindanao del Norte, officials announced Thursday.

MBHTE-BARMM Minister Mohagher Iqbal said the initiative reflects the regional government’s commitment to investing in education.

“We are not just laying the foundation for buildings; we are laying the foundation for our children’s future. These projects are a commitment to ensuring that every Bangsamoro learner has a safe and nurturing space to learn and grow,” Iqbal said in a statement.

On Wednesday, MBHTE officials led groundbreaking ceremonies for PHP32.6 million worth of infrastructure projects in the School Division Office of Maguindanao del Norte.

The projects include a one-story, two-classroom building at Mompong Elementary School in Barangay Bugawas, Datu Odin Sinsuat, and the construction of four additional schools: Sarilika National High School, Taviran Elementary School, Linek Elementary School, and Margues Elementary School.

Margues Elementary School in Barangay Makir, Datu Odin Sinsuat will also receive a covered court with a stage.

Iqbal added that Datu Pinguiaman Elementary School in Barangay Pinguiaman, Datu Odin Sinsuat, is set to benefit from a water sanitation project, including water source development. An Educational Learning Center will also be established in Barangay Bugawas.

The MBHTE has also begun constructing school facilities in the Special Geographic Area of BARMM, further expanding access to quality education across the region. (PNA)
