The provincial government hosted a preschoolers’ talent contest on Friday to emphasize child safety and rights as part of National Children’s Month.

Careen Panaguiton, Social Welfare Officer V, said the event at City Mall highlighted this year’s theme: “Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata Ipaglaban.”

Preschoolers from child development centers across the province competed in vocal solo, draw and tell, and zumba dance categories.

“The initiative stands as a celebration of the children’s gifts and as our collective commitment to defend their safety, dignity and rights,” said Carla Jee Ann Cabigunda, Early Childhood Care focal person.

The provincial government kicked off its Children’s Month celebration on Nov. 11 with a commitment to uphold child rights based on the UN Convention. (PNA)
