AirAsia Philippines announced the reinstatement of its Clark-Kalibo route and the increased in the frequency of its Clark-Caticlan flight.

The carrier first launched the Clark-Kalibo flights in March 2017 and had to stop it due to the closure of Boracay in 2018.

Both routes will operate thrice-weekly and have already commenced on Thursday, October 17.

In a statement, AirAsia Philippines chief executive officer Ricardo Isla said the move was due to the increased demand for Boracay flights, especially this holiday season.

In addition, he said these routes would provide the guests from Clark with more flexibility and options.

Isla also mentioned that Boracay is among the top holiday destinations

In early 2019, the carrier launched a Kalibo-Taipei route, as well as flights between Kalibo and Macau, Kunming, and Chengdu.

Meanwhile, as a promotional fare, AirAsia announced that guests can book Clark-Kalibo tickets for as low as PHP890 for loyalty members or PHP957 for non-members. Clark-Caticlan tickets may be availed for as low as PHP1,090 for loyalty members, and PHP1,157 for non-members.

The promotional fare is available from October 17-27, for travel period between December 2 to January 14, 2020. (PNA)
