The ABS-CBN Foundation marks its 33rd year with a renewed vision towards fulfilling its mission to serve Filipinos. With its three decades of experience, it has continuously championed children’s welfare, education, environmental stewardship, disaster relief and rehabilitation, and community empowerment.

In recent years, the flagship programs of the Foundation have innovated to match the current needs of its beneficiaries. In the continuous quest to serve the Filipino child, Bantay Bata 163 has expanded its helpline services to include families in need of psychological support and counseling for mental health concerns. Programa Genio helps bring out the best in Filipino learners by providing them access to quality education, materials and learning tools. Bantay Kalikasan environmental conservation efforts now span ridge to reef—from reforestation efforts at La Mesa Watershed to advocating citizen efforts at the Verde Island Passage, and other community-engaged activities in various areas around the country. Sagip Kapamilya has gone beyond providing essentials during disasters but is actively involved in rehabilitation and shifting to build resiliency.

This transformation is also seen to broaden and strengthen the Foundation’s partnerships with various stakeholders, such as government agencies, local government units (LGUs), other non-profit organizations (NGOs), and the private sector.

“Our commitment to public service began 33 years ago, and we are grateful to everyone who has been journeying with us,” said ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Roberta Lopez-Feliciano. “Our experience puts us in a position to become even more responsive and adaptable amid changing needs and current challenges, and to truly live out our mission to be in service to the Filipinos.”

ABS-CBN Foundation began in 1989 to fulfill the mandate of former ABS-CBN Chairman, the late Eugenio Lopez, Jr that “the reason our business exists is for public service.” His daughter, Gina Lopez, laid the groundwork for the Foundation’s programs that directly benefit the children, their families, their communities and the environment.

Today the Foundation records a wealth of inspiring stories of transformation, resilience, love, and hope.
