The Camiguin provincial government on Friday launched a task force to implement an intensified community response against violence and public disturbance.

The Task Force Disiplina was created to implement the Standard Security Plans for Barangay Public Events, which were relayed to the province’s five municipalities and their barangays.

Under the plans, the task force shall adopt the “Zero Tolerance Against Violence and Public Disturbances,” which will apply during town or barangay fiestas and other major public festivities and events.

The task force comprises local government implementers through their respective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, in partnership with the police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Philippine Coast Guard.

A standard security plan was also being outlined to strengthen the task force’s organizational mechanism for public security and safety.

Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo said the province is committed to maintaining peace and order, especially since he was appointed to chair the Regional Peace and Order Council for Northern Mindanao (RPOC-10).

“It is a continuing responsibility of the RPOC-10 to ensure Northern Mindanao remains focused, coordinated, and responsive,” he said. (PNA)
