A total of 588 beneficiaries in Mawab, Davao de Oro are set to receive assistance under the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transportation (UPLIFT) program worth PHP1.1 million, the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Davao Region (DSWD-11) announced Thursday.

“DSWD-11 continues to conduct payouts for the UPLIFT program in various parts of the region. Today, the distribution of assistance to qualified beneficiaries in the municipality of Mawab also commenced,” the agency said in an online post.

Each beneficiary will receive PHP2,000 during the payout at the Mawab Municipal Gymnasium in Barangay Poblacion.

According to DSWD-11, the recipients belong to Group 2 of qualified beneficiaries identified through the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) of the Philippine Statistics Authority.

“Group 2 is composed of poor and near-poor households falling within the top 25 percent above the poverty threshold, based on CBMS results,” DSWD-11 said.

UPLIFT is one of the government’s new initiatives aimed at providing immediate financial assistance to qualified individuals and families to help address basic needs and improve living standards.

Alongside the ongoing UPLIFT implementation on Thursday, DSWD-11 also conducted beneficiary verification under its “Basta Beripikado, Mabilis ang Serbisyo” program in New Bataan, Davao de Oro.

The verification aims to ensure the accuracy and completeness of beneficiary information, thereby facilitating faster, more efficient delivery of DSWD programs and services.

Beneficiaries are required to prepare the necessary documents to expedite the process. (PNA)
