The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 13 (Caraga) has sent 24,000 family food packs (FFPs) as augmentation support for families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Jose Abad Santos (JAS), Davao Occidental.
In a statement on Wednesday, the DSWD-13 said that the loading and delivery of the FFPs took place at its warehouse here Tuesday evening.
“This assistance is in line with the directive of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to ensure the timely delivery of relief assistance to disaster-affected communities,” the department said.
JAS is among the towns badly hit in Davao Occidental during the strong earthquake that struck on June 8 and was felt across most of Mindanao.
The DSWD-13 also continues to serve the affected families in Glan, Sarangani, with hot meals through its mobile kitchen and support staff. (PNA)
