First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Saturday emphasized the need to give soldiers and their families improved access to healthcare services.

In a social media post, Araneta-Marcos recognized the sacrifices made by government troops to fulfill their mandate of protecting the country.

“Behind every uniform is a Filipino who serves with courage, sacrifice, and love for country,” she said.

“Our soldiers care for our nation every day. It is only right that care reaches them, too.”

Araneta-Marcos led the turnover of 11 mobile laboratory vans to the Philippine Army on Wednesday.

She cited the need to bring healthcare closer to military personnel, acknowledging that many of them spend long periods away from their families and are often assigned to remote areas, just to keep the nation safe.

The First Lady said the initiative would allow troops and their loved ones to receive timely medical care and early disease detection.

“After all, caring for those who protect us is one meaningful way of honoring their sacrifice,” she said.

The turnover of mobile laboratory vans for troops is aligned with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s push to make healthcare services more accessible to Filipinos.

The donation of brand-new mobile medical laboratories was made possible through the First Lady’s Lab for All Program, in partnership with Robinsons Land Foundation, Inc.

The mobile laboratory vans are expected to provide diagnostic and medical services to military personnel and their dependents, especially those assigned to remote areas. (PNA)
