The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has expanded its institutional partnerships to provide Gawad Lingkod Bayani national awardees with enhanced access to medical services and educational opportunities across the country.

In a news release on Monday, the CSC noted that awardees are entitled to free executive checkups within one year from the conferment of their award under the updated incentives package.

The initiative is supported by long-standing medical partners through renewed memoranda of agreement, including the Philippine General Hospital, Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute and the Lung Center of the Philippines.

To ensure regional inclusivity, the CSC has welcomed new partner hospitals, including the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Region I and the Cotabato Regional Medical Center in BARMM. In Region 6, the partnership now includes the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital, Western Visayas State University Medical Center and Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital.

Beyond health services, the program reinforces its commitment to lifelong learning by allowing awardees or a qualified beneficiary, such as a spouse, child, parent, or sibling, to avail of scholarship opportunities within five years of the award’s conferment.

Participating academic institutions include the Philippine Normal University, University of the Philippines and Mariano Marcos State University. Interested applicants must meet the specific admission and course requirements of these partner universities.

The CSC said these expanded partnerships aim to make benefits more accessible by enabling awardees to seek medical care or pursue academic advancement closer to their home regions.

Medical and academic institutions are encouraged to partner with the commission to provide meaningful incentives to civil servants who embody “puso, dangal, at galing” (heart, honor, and excellence) in public service. (PNA)
