Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III on Monday called on Filipinos to spend Holy Week as a time for reflection, renewal, and recommitment to the values that strengthen families and the nation.

He said the solemn observance comes at a crucial time as many Filipinos continue to face personal and collective challenges, making the message of sacrifice, forgiveness, and hope more relevant than ever.

“Sa pagdating ng Mahal na Araw, inaanyayahan ko ang bawat Pilipino na sandaling huminto at pagnilayan ang kahulugan ng mga araw na ito (As we observe Holy Week, I invite every Filipino to pause and reflect on the meaning of these days),” Dy said in a video message.

He said Holy Week goes beyond tradition and serves as a moral guide, reminding Filipinos of the enduring values that sustain unity and resilience.

“Holy Week reminds us of sacrifice, forgiveness, and hope —mga aral na patuloy na gumagabay sa atin bilang mga tao at bilang isang bansa (lessons that continue to guide us as a people and as a nation).”

The Speaker from Isabela underscored that even in difficult times, there is always space for hope and renewal.

“Sa gitna ng mga hamon ng buhay, paalala rin ito na sa bawat kadiliman ang kasunod ay bukang liwayway ng liwanag, at ang pag-asa ay laging may puwang sa puso ng bawat Pilipino (Amid life’s challenges, it is also a reminder that every darkness is followed by the dawn of light, and that hope always has space in the hearts of every Filipino),” he said.

He urged Filipinos to turn reflection into action by deepening their faith, strengthening family ties, and cultivating a deeper and more genuine concern for others.

Dy also expressed hope that the spirit of Holy Week would inspire unity and shared responsibility in building a more compassionate and resilient nation. (PNA)
