The Iligan City government on Thursday launched a rehabilitation plan for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the recent flood caused by Tropical Storm Basyang.

During a media briefing, Councilor Marlene Young, chair of the city council’s Committee on Trade, Commerce and Industry, said the program will be facilitated by the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office in partnership with private and other public stakeholders.

Young said affected MSMEs can receive free business permit plates, including reprints of their permits, until June 30, 2026.

The move was based on City Ordinance 26-7764, which the council recently passed following the Feb. 6 flooding.

“We are also working to expedite the distribution of starter kits from DTI (Department of Trade and Industry),” she said.

Other interventions from the city government include tax amnesty extensions under the Economic Resiliency and Tax Reform Ordinance of 2026 until Dec. 30, 2027, and price controls that remain in effect following the declaration of a state of calamity in Iligan City. (PNA)
