The municipality of Loreto in Dinagat Islands received 570 sacks of rice on Friday from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and Senator Win Gatchalian as part of national food assistance.

The provincial government delivered the aid, with 370 sacks from OCD and 200 from Gatchalian, the Loreto local government said in a statement.

“This is part of the 1,000-sack NFA rice assistance for the Dinagat Islands from the OCD,” said Atty. Niel Edward Demerey, who represented Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. in the turnover.

He said distribution of the remaining sacks to other towns in the province will continue next week.

The Loreto LGU thanked the provincial government, OCD, and the senator, noting that the aid is sufficient to benefit all families in the municipality. (PNA)
