The Laoag city government has extended the deadline for online business permit renewals to February 28, 2026 as the city council adopts Resolution No. 13SP-2025-245, providing business owners extra time to comply conveniently.

Acting City Treasurer Loelyn Bajado said on Jan. 15 that 1,328 licenses have already been issued out of 6,100 registered businesses for 2025.

“We have extended the business renewal from Jan. 31 to Feb. 28 to provide relief and flexibility to business owners, particularly small and medium enterprises, while ensuring continued compliance with city regulations,” Bajado told the Philippine News Agency in an interview.

Bajado added that 1,422 applications are still pending verification, assessment, or payment, with 133 applicants declined for lacking requirements and 816 ready for payment.

The city’s Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS) at the Laoag City Multi-Purpose Hall will remain open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for faster processing.

Business owners are reminded to renew before the deadline to avoid penalties and surcharges. (PNA)
