Modular tents have been added to several evacuation centers in Albay to accommodate families displaced by Mayon Volcano’s unrest.

At least 25 Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) family tents were established at the San Jose Evacuation Center in Malilipot, and ten new modular tents were set up at the Buang Evacuation Center in Tabaco City.

DSWD Regional Director Norman Laurio said this would ensure the protection and well-being of families.

A team also monitors the implementation of its mobile water stations, mobile kitchens, tent city, and emergency vehicles from the Red Cross.

Families are given hot meals in collaboration with the local government unit of Malilipot.

Laurio said the agency and its resources would be directed toward maintaining the security of Bicolanos during calamities.
