The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will be more professional and resilient in 2026 as it continues to serve Filipinos.

“In the year ahead, let us renew our commitment to the ideals that guide our service: unity within our ranks and with our partners across the nation, professionalism in every action we take, resilience in the face of adversity, and an unwavering focus on serving the Filipino people,” AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. said in his New Year’s message Thursday.

Brawner also said the AFP’s mission is greater than anyone and that through collective effort, mutual support, and dedication to excellence, it will continue protecting the country’s security, peace and progress.

He, meanwhile, urged all military personnel to reflect on the challenges they have faced, the victories achieved, and the lessons learned together.

Brawner also admitted that the past year tested the military’s resilience, but dedication, courage, and professionalism once again proved that the men and women of the AFP are steadfast defenders of the nation.

“Our service is not measured solely by operational successes, but by the discipline, integrity, and commitment that define each of us in our daily duties. True strength comes from unity, unwavering purpose, and the steady effort to improve ourselves and our organization every day,” he added.

He also thanked every soldier, sailor, airman, marine, reservist, and civilian personnel for their sacrifices and tireless service.

“Let us move forward with courage and unity as we wholeheartedly protect the nation and serve the Filipino people with honor and excellence,” the AFP chief stressed. (PNA)
