The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 12 (Soccsksargen) assisted 1,315 deserving youth aged 18 to 30 years through the Government Internship Program (GIP) in 2025.

In a statement on Wednesday, the DOLE Regional Office said the beneficiaries have been provided three to six months of paid internship opportunities across the region, where they gained practical skills, strengthening their competitiveness and readiness for future careers.

As of November 2025, it added that 86 GIP beneficiaries have already been absorbed by partner government offices or hired by private establishments.

Implemented in partnership with government agencies and local government units, the program enhances employability, provides hands-on work experience, and supports the school-to-work transition for out-of-school youth, graduates, and those from low-income families.

DOLE 12 officer-in-charge Regional Director Raymond Fel Sajor said the GIP is part of its broader youth employment and social protection initiatives, contributing to human capital development while providing partner institutions with additional manpower support.

Beneficiaries received a stipend in accordance with existing guidelines while participating in structured and supervised work arrangements.

Under the current administration, DOLE-12 continues to implement programs that empower youth, enhance employability, and promote inclusive social and economic growth across Soccsksargen communities. (PNA)
