The Department of Education in Bicol (DepEd-5) on Tuesday congratulated some 400,000 graduates and completers of basic education in the region for school year 2024-2025.

“It resonates deeply with the spirit of this gathering and the ideals we aim to uphold. In this pivotal moment, as you stand on the threshold of new beginnings, I urge you to carry the essence of unity in your hearts and lives,” DepEd-5 Director Gilbert Sadsad said in a media release.

Sadsad lauded the students for persevering, demonstrating grit, and showing an unwavering commitment to their education despite the challenges.

“As you graduate today, you are not merely stepping into a personal future. You are stepping into a collective journey that is integral to the growth and renewal of our beloved Philippines,” he said.

Sadsad told the students that unity goes beyond being a mere concept and is a responsibility of every citizen.

“In Bicol, known for its warmth, resilience, and rich culture, let us embody the spirit of collaboration working alongside one another to address issues, uplift the marginalized, and foster an inclusive environment for all. As you embark on your next ventures, whether in further studies, the workforce, community service, let your action be guided by the principles of cooperation, empathy, and collective progress,” he said.

Sadsad reminded the students of their unique talents, skills and perspectives that can contribute to the “tapestry of the nation.”

“Embrace your differences, collaborate with others, and engage actively in dialogues that will enhance our communities. Be the generation that not only dreams of a better future but also actively participates in its creation,” he said.

He encouraged students to connect, learn from one another and rise together as partners in building a Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines) where every individual’s potential is realized, and every voice is heard.

“Today, we hope that you will carry forth the message of unity and partnership, transforming ourselves and the world around us generations to come. May your journey be filled with success, fulfillment, and meaningful contributions to our country,” Sadsad said. (PNA)
