A total of 16 health facilities consisting of 13 district health centers and three private medical hubs in Baguio have been accredited as “Konsulta” providers by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).

Janet Pelaez, chief social insurance officer of PhilHealth-Baguio, said the facilities have complied with the mandatory requirements for accreditation as a “Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama” (Konsulta) program provider.

Konsulta aims to provide primary care benefits for its members including consultation and case management, medicines, laboratory, assisting eligible beneficiaries in assessing services in partner facilities, and referral to specialty or higher level of care.

There are also 13 laboratory tests that can be availed of like complete blood count (CBC) with platelet count, urinalysis, fecalysis, sputum microscopy, and fecal occult blood.

The 13 district health centers are Asin, Atab, Atok Trail, Campo Filipino, City Camp, Engineer’s Hill, Irisan, Loakan, Lucban, Pacdal, Pinsao, Quirino Hill, and Quezon Hill.

Baguio has 16 district health centers.

The accredited hospitals are Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, Philippine Military Academy and the Olympian Medical and Diagnostic Center.

“The public can already avail of their PhilHealth Konsulta packages at the facilities whether as patients or to avoid becoming a patient,” Pelaez said.

Dr. Dominga Gadgad, regional director of PhilHealth-Cordillera, said in an earlier media interview that they continue to meet with private health facilities offering the accreditation for the Konsulta Package to give patients more options for their health needs.

Aside from accreditation of facilities, the public is also urged to register for the Konsulta Package so that they can undergo the “first patient encounter” and determine what treatment, referrals or services they should avail including the preventive care services to be assured of a good health.
