The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Caraga (DSWD-13) provided more than PHP224.7 million in livelihood assistance in 2024, the agency said Tuesday.

The aid, distributed through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), supported 13,416 beneficiaries and 538 projects, DSWD-13 Director Mari-Flor Dollaga said at a press conference.

About 6,962 beneficiaries were part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and 6,490 were not.

About 68 percent of the beneficiaries were women, and about 32 percent were men.

The program also served 1,404 people from indigenous communities, 1,972 senior citizens, 473 people with disabilities, and 214 members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The SLP aims to improve the economic conditions of poor families.

“The SLP continues to be the agency’s lead livelihood capability-building program,” Dollaga said. (PNA)
