Palayan City, Nueva Ecija Mayor Viandrei Nicole Cuevas and beneficiaries of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program expressed their gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the implementation of the national housing project in Nueva Ecija.

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said a total of 22 buildings are being constructed in the 23-hectare development project under the flagship 4PH, with a target of around 6,300 housing units.

Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos led the ceremonial awarding of housing units from the Palayan City Township Project last December 2024.

The DHSUD said the Palayan City LGU has already started the initial turnover of housing units in the condominium-type development, and is continuously processing applicants.

By March, 1,076 units are set to be turned over to beneficiaries while an additional 1,076 units are also scheduled for completion and turnover in July.

“One of the biggest factors that made our township project successful was… of course, how affordable it was. Hindi po namin magagawa ‘yon kung hindi po dahil sa partnership po namin sa national government… and nakakuha po tayo ng (We won’t be able to do it if not for the partnership with the national government and we received) subsidy through DHSUD,” Cuevas said in a Kapihan sa DHSUD on Feb. 11.

“If you visit the township project, you’ll see the road networks are all developed. We have full electric and water sewage networks. All of these would not be possible without the partnership,” she said.

Cuevas also underscored that the Palayan City Township Project is open not only to the city’s residents but to all interested Filipinos as it is the goal of the administration’s flagship housing program.

Moises Jerickson Alejo, one of the beneficiaries of the township project, said the housing program helped him realize his childhood dream of having his own home.

“Noong bata po ako, ang bahay lang po talaga namin kubo. Lumaki po ako na pinagsisikapan ng magulang ko na maipakonkreto ‘yung bahay naming para may matirhan kami na komportable (When I was young, we lived in a hut. My parents wanted a concrete house for us to be comfortable),” he said.

“Kaya maraming salamat po sa programang ito, nabigyan po kami ng bahay. Hindi lang basta bahay, condominium pa tapos may mga amenities pang kasama (Thank you for this program, we’re able to have a house. Not just a house, condominium with amenities).”

Jovan Sohaco, another project beneficiary, thanked Marcos and urged everyone to take advantage of the opportunity.

“Para po sa mga nagdadalawang-isip… huwag na po kayo magdalawang-isip. I-grab niyo na po ‘yung opportunity na ‘yan, mura na tsaka kayang-kaya naman ng bulsa (For those who are doubting, grab the opportunity, it is affordable),” he said.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar thanked the Palayan City LGU for their dedication as he reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to completing the project.

“This is a testament to the strong commitment of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure that all Filipinos will have access to their own safe, decent, and affordable homes,” he said. (PNA)
