Following the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) in this generation, companies such as Google Philippines opened a free course delving into AI to provide the right and sufficient information to the community.

On September 27, Google Philippines announced that the company would provide new courses on its websites, including the study of generative AI, just in time for their 25th anniversary celebration.

The said free course is composed of five main topics namely Introduction to Generative AI, Introduction to Large Language Models, Introduction to Responsible AI, Generative AI Fundamentals, and Responsible AI: Applying AI Principles with Google Cloud.

Within this program, consumers can take advantage of Google’s AI ecosystem and its AI products and foundation models.

According to Google Philippines’ head of government affairs and public policy, Yves Gonzalez, these five courses will be available online and are free for public viewing to provide in-depth knowledge to Filipinos about AI.

Gonzalez then announced that this course could be a pre-requisite field when an individual wants to pursue machine learning and data science courses, as it also offers various topics relating to artificial intelligence, such as generative AI and responsible AI, as well as dealing with data in technology.

The said free course was also made to support the startups in the Philippines that have a core technology relating to AI in developing products and other systems.

According to Google Philippines, it will offer a “Google for AI Startups Cloud Program,” wherein Filipino startups can access their cloud credits of $350,000, technical training, and business support for at least two years.

Opening new courses such as this is part of Google’s commitment to provide over 39,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships to Filipinos to show support to underserved communities when it comes to digital skills.

Other than offering free courses about generating and being responsible for AI, Google Philippines will also open other free sessions tackling business intelligence, advanced data analytics, and cyber security.
