Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro of Marikina City opens the most anticipated 63rd Palarong Pambansa to sports fans and visitors for free as they host this year’s national sports tournament.

The city invites everyone to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Palarong Pambansa on July 31 as it announces a no-ticket-required policy.

Held at Marikina River Park and Marikina Sports Center, the Opening Ceremony will mark the start of the annual sports competition, hyping the tournament-goers with a concert, drone show, fireworks display, and a pre-program show featuring a marching band exhibition, cheer dance, and more.

Starting from August 1 to August 5, Palaro 2023 will hold over 30 competitions such as archery, baseball, football, aerobic gymnastics, swimming, and taekwondo, in which hundreds of student-athletes are expected to compete.

The Department of Education organizes Palarong Pambansa, an annual sports tournament to celebrate the talents of student-athletes hailing from the 17 regions of the Philippines.
