Under her proposed “Oplan Angat Agad” program, presidential bet Leni Robredo is hoping to ensure that at least one member of Filipino families will receive a monthly salary, and that the unemployed will get three-month financial assistance from the government while looking for a job.

This was amplified by Aika Robredo, daughter of the Vice President, during a sortie in this province on Tuesday as she brushed aside a call for her mother’s withdrawal from the race by her fellow presidential hopeful Isko Moreno.

Aika said the proposal that will help uplift the living conditions of the people, has been gaining support.

Meanwhile, she told the local media that “in-person or house-to-house campaign is effective”. This was shortly after leading a market tour in Cauayan City, house-to-house campaign in Dadap village in this town, and a meet and greet event with women and youth at the Sampaloc Sports Complex in Cabatuan town.

Unmindful of the claims that Isabela is a Marcos bailiwick, Aika said “People understand our plans better with these (ways) of campaigning.”

The Leni team has not been distracted by “below-the-belt tactics,” she noted.

“We have been talking with our lawyers (to file charges against the culprits) but we will not be distracted with these things. They have been doing these against us in 2016, now we know to address these matters,” Aika said.

Later in the afternoon, she toured Aurora town and dropped by at the “pink wall” with youth leaders, talked with farmers and women in San Mateo town.

The Vice President’s daughter also visited the Santiago City murals along Carreon and Malvar streets and had a meet and greet event with her mother’s supporters in Cordon town. (PNA)
