The city government of Manila will post on its social media pages the list of beneficiaries of the financial assistance from the national government.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso confirmed Monday night that the City Treasurer’s Office received PHP1.52 billion under the program to assist the National Capital Region Plus which is under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Each beneficiary will receive PHP1,000, with a maximum of PHP4,000 per family. About 380,000 families will benefit.

Domagoso assured residents the distribution will be done as soon as possible.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will furnish Manila with the list of beneficiaries while the city’s Department of Social Welfare will prepare the distribution list to be done in batches.

“May mga request ang mga netizen na kung pwede i-post ang mga beneficiary, pati yung mga tumanggap na. Huwag kayo mag-alala, didinggin ko ang panawagan nyo para walang magka-tolongesan at makita nila (We have received requests from netizens if it is possible to post the names of the beneficiaries, including those who have already received theirs. Don’t worry, we will listen to you so no one will be deceived),” Domagoso said.

The Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 of the Department of Interior and Local Government, DSWD, the Department of National Defense, and local government units (LGUs) states that the assistance will be given in the order of priority: beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) under the Bayanihan Act 1 and additional beneficiaries of emergency subsidy under Bayanihan Act 2; SAP wait-listed beneficiaries; those belonging to vulnerable groups, such as low-income individuals living alone, persons with disabilities, solo parents, etc; and such other individuals affected by the ECQ as may be determined by the LGU provided that funds are still available

To avoid crowds and violation of other safety protocols, Domagoso advised Mañilenos not to go to their village halls unless they are asked to. (PNA)
