Authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) traveling to this highly urbanized city can avail of the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test offered free by the local government here.

“We will strongly encourage those who will enter the city to still take the test we offer for free to ensure the safety of our constituents,” Mayor Jerry P. Treñas posted on his official Facebook page on Monday.

The National Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), in Resolution No. 98-A dated Feb. 4, said “government officials/personnel on official business shall be allowed unimpeded travel to their place of destination and shall not be required to undergo mandatory testing and/or quarantine protocols of the local government unit destination”.

Provided, however, that they present their valid identification, present their original or certified true copy of their authority, pass symptom screening at the port upon arrival and strictly comply with minimum health standards.

“For the past few days, we have been recording confirmed cases from our APOR and we ask our fellows to strictly follow the health protocols to avoid further transmission,” Treñas added.

Data from the City Health Office-City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit showed that one APOR was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Feb. 1, two on Feb. 3, and another one the following day. (PNA)
