A crisis intervention center building here that will cater to juvenile delinquents and other vulnerable groups was inaugurated on Friday.

“The center has facilities such as a counseling room and sleeping quarters where delinquents could stay and it will also serve as a center for other less fortunate residents in the town,” said Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr., in an interview on Friday.

Lopez said the two-story building was funded with PHP6 million from the town’s budget.

“The Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) are also situated in the building,” he added.

The MSWDO building before was already dilapidated since it was built during the term of former president Ferdinand Marcos, he said.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office building was also inaugurated on Friday.

The building was funded with PHP2 million from the municipal government’s budget. (PNA)
