Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Debold Sinas, on Wednesday said the opening of an extension office of the Civil Security Group (CSG) at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) is part of the ongoing efforts to adjust to the “new normal” brought by the pandemic.

Sinas said the one-stop-shop will help decongest police camps and make the service more accessible to the public.

The satellite office is the first that is complete in function. It can provide a police clearance, licenses such as to own and possess firearms, and drug and neuro-tests to their clients in the security sector, Sinas said.

“This signing of the MOA (memorandum of agreement) and opening of the CSG’s satellite office here at SM MOA is in line with the decentralization program of our licensing particularly on the application for LTOPF firearms registration and renewal of license to exercise (the) security profession,” he said.

“As part of the PNP’s anti-criminality program we have intensified our campaign on ‘Oplan Katok’ and constantly reminding our firearms holders to process and secure appropriate permits and licenses and registration to avoid inconvenience and confiscation of their firearms,” he added. (PNA)
