The city government here has mandated that all incoming individuals, visitors, or returning residents from outside the province of Pangasinan to register starting Oct. 12 before they could be allowed to enter the city.

In an interview Wednesday, Mayor Marc Brian Lim said the city aims to have a digital recording of those from outside the province as part of strengthening the city’s contact tracing efforts to prevent the transmission of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Incoming visitors or returning residents of the province will have to register online through the website gopangasinan.ph.

After accomplishing the necessary steps and filling out the form online, a quick response (QR) code will be given to the registrant.

The QR code should be saved in his mobile phone or printed in a clean blank paper as this will be shown to the checkpoint located at the city’s boundary.

“It will serve as a documentary requirement before entry to the city,” Lim said.

On top of the QR code, government-issued identification cards (IDs) and other necessary travel documents are also required. Otherwise, the entry will be prohibited, he added.

Meanwhile, residents within Pangasinan planning to enter the city are only required to present IDs proving they are residents of Pangasinan.

Dagupan City recorded 107 active Covid-19 confirmed cases as of Sept. 30. (PNA)
