Issued on March 6, 1965, Presidential Proclamation No. 374 requires Filipinos shall commemorate the first time the Philippine flag was unfurled during the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite in 1898.

As a way to honor this historical event, National Flag Day encourages Filipinos to showcase the national emblem everywhere—schools, offices, malls, establishments, etc.

Executive Order No. 179 signed in 1994 requires Filipinos to pay respect to this tradition from May 28 to June 12.

However, now that majority of Filipinos are still observing the implemented community quarantine across the country, how did they celebrate the annual occasion?
